Garden Design

Garden Design

A garden design is only as good as the ground it has to sit on. We draw ours knowing what it takes to build them — the levels, the drainage, the way a wall has to be founded — because the team that plans the garden is the team that lays it.

What's involved

It begins on site: how the garden sits, where the light falls, how you want to use it and what the ground will allow. From there we work the shape out with you — the levels, the hard surfaces, the planting and the way you move between them — settling the materials as we go, so what you agree to is costed and buildable rather than a picture. Then we build it. There is no handover halfway, which is where most of the surprises in a garden project come from.

What a design covers

  • A visit to the site — levels, drainage, aspect and access
  • Layout — hard surfaces, planting areas and the routes between them
  • Materials chosen to suit the property, and priced as part of the plan
  • Construction by the same hands that drew it
  • Or building to a plan your own designer has already drawn

We give every quote in person, after a visit to see the site for ourselves. A rough idea and a walk round the garden is enough to begin with.

Common questions

Questions, answered.

Do you build the gardens you design?

Yes — design and build are the same job here. The team that draws the garden is the team that lays it, so nothing is lost between the plan and the ground.

Can you work to a design someone else has drawn?

Yes. We'll build to a garden designer's plan, or plan the layout with you ourselves.

What areas do you cover?

Salisbury and the surrounding Wiltshire villages.

If this is the kind of work you have in mind, we'd be glad to talk it through.
